The annual three-day festival, spoken in one strange word, is a highlight of Australia’s literary calendar and the most exciting poetry festival in the country. In 2015 we celebrate 19 years for QPF in a spectacular weekend from Friday 28 – Sunday 30 August 2015 at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.
The QPF program is created primarily through an Expression of Interest process, whereby the QPF Program Committee seeks proposals from poets and artists from across Australia and around the world interested in being part of the 2015 festival. We are delighted to announce that we are currently inviting proposals from poets, spoken word artists & performers.
We would like to hear from individuals and groups interested in performing at the three-day festival spoken in one strange word. We are looking for submissions that embrace the wide possibilities of poetic expression – page poetry, readings, slam, spoken word, performance, music, ekphrastic poetry, collaborations, installations, cross-platform creations, and more. While all projects must have a relationship to poetic language, we encourage submissions from poets and artists wishing to explore the bounds of poetic performance and expression.
Expressions of Interest must be received by COB, Thursday 19 February 2015. Submissions received after this date will not be considered. All submissions must be mailed in to the address below. Emailed submissions will not be considered unless the applicant lives outside of Australia.
