Celebrate the start of 2015 with New Year's Geek!
Supanova Pop Culture Industries and Brisbane Powerhouse invite you to party with your favourite pop-culture characters to start 2015. There’s local band Boss Fight, bringing you amped-up versions of classic video game tunes and DJs, trivia, retro arcade games, film screenings, a cosplay prom and free refreshments. Whether you’re into cosplay, fantasy, gaming, music, movies, comics, anime, or just want to party, we’ve got your New Year’s Eve sorted.
Thanks to Madman Entertainment, the Graffiti Room will become an underground cinema screening the hilarious vampire-mocumentary What We Do In The Shadows (M), and introducing you to the legendary Capcom video game characters in Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist (MA15+).
Natalie Bochenski of Brisbane Times fame will be hosting Game of Thrones Trivia – so start studying like you’re a Snow with something to prove!
Thanks to two DJs who can make even the quietest wall-flower boogie, you’ll be doing the robot and moonwalking all night long. Mark Maxwell and Justin Marshman will be your resident music makers for the evening – ensuring everyone gets down like it’s 1999.
Start looking up old-school cheat codes now in preparation for an evening of retro arcade games.
