Alter-ego Group Exhibition
Paddington’s historic landmark Aspire Gallery will play host next month to group exhibition Alter-ego.
Alter-ego features fresh and diverse works by Queensland artists Chantel Schott, OmiLee, Hayley Groves George, Corrina McLaughlin and Megan Darr that include paintings, photography and sculpture. Within this collaboration you will encounter the artists’ vulnerabilities, fears, child-like fantasies, creative processes and personal challenges through their use of different styles and materials.
The exhibition is a platform sharing five works each; a landscape, abstract, sculpture, portrait and photography piece, where innovation and composition is prominent throughout and examines a storytelling like narrative.
“The multiplicity of individual and intimate responses to the theme have all come together to reveal a cohesive and unique display of work,”
“Many of us were working in some of the styles for the very first time, I have found this to be a challenging and very rewarding experience,” said Ms Schott.
Alter-ego officially opens on Saturday 7 November at 3:30pm – 5:30pm, all are welcome and refreshments will be served.
The exhibition runs from Wednesday 4 November until Saturday 21 November at Aspire Gallery, 53 Kennedy Terrace, Paddington Qld 4064. Open Wednesday to Saturday 10:30am – 4:30pm.
An afternoon tea to meet the artists and discuss the work informally will also be held on the final day, Saturday 21 November 1pm – 3pm.
